TOBACCO
Tobacco is the common name of several plants in the Nicotiana genus and the Solanaceae (nightshade) family and the chief commercial crop is N. tabacum. Dried tobacco leaves are mainly used for smoking in cigarettes and cigars, as well as pipes and shishas. Pakistan fall in the top ten countries in tobacco production. In 2020 the value of the global tobacco market amounted to over 760 billion U.S. dollar and the Global Tobacco Market size is expected to reach $1,066.6 billion by 2026, rising at a market growth of 3.6% CAGR during the forecast period. India is one of the largest producers and top exporter of tobacco after China and Brazil. Tobacco is grown on around 0.21% of total irrigated land of Pakistan. In 2019-2020 Pakistan produced 113.657 Million Kgs of different kind of tobacco.
